Al Dar Exchange, Qatar’s leading exchange house licensed by the Qatar Central Bank, today announced that it has become the first exchange house in Qatar to launch Visa Direct, in partnership with Visa (NYSE: V), a world leader in digital payments. The collaboration enables Al Dar Exchange customers to send money directly to eligible bank accounts, cards and mobile wallets in markets around the world, marking a significant milestone in the digital transformation of cross-border remittances in Qatar.
Through Visa Direct, Al Dar Exchange customers can now transfer funds through a single, secure connection to billions of endpoints globally — including bank accounts, cards and digital wallets — with enhanced speed, transparency and reliability. The service removes friction from the remittance journey and gives customers greater certainty over when and how their money arrives.
By becoming the first exchange house in the country to offer the service, Al Dar Exchange is setting a new benchmark for the sector. The capability will be available across the company’s network of 38 branches, more than 15 self-service kiosks, its mobile application and its web portal, ensuring customers can access it through whichever channel suits them best.

The service is live across an initial set of corridors, enabling customers to send funds to the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, India, Australia, Morocco, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Turkey and all SEPA member countries, with further destinations to be added progressively.
